As Executive Director Rita has more than 20 years of
pageant experience. Her productions are award winning,
having been named for two years running the "Executive
Director of the Year" by the Miss Alaska-America Pageant.
Successful pageants under her direction have been Miss
Anchorage, Miss Fur Rendezvous Pageant, Miss Northern
Lights and Miss SouthCentral, all preliminary competitions
to the Miss Alaska America Scholarship Program. Alaska's
Beauties of America, the Alaska-American Co-Ed Pageant
and Alaska USA Mother-Daughter Pageant. Over $500,000
in awards, prizes and scholarships have been distributed
under her direction.
Her experience also includes producing fashion and talent
shows, pageant/modeling coaching and inspiratioinal
speaker. She is a former "Mrs. Alaska United Nations"
where she placed in the "Top 10" at the National
Competition.

In addition to her pageant leadership role Rita has worked in radio and television for more
than 18 years. As "Spokerperson" for "Spotilght on New Businesss" a series she and
co-developer John Crabb debuted in May of 1992. Currently she is Producer and Director of a
weekly television series "Playing Defense" featuring local attorney Rex Butler. She has
written in excess of 1200 television and readio commercials and has scripted dozens of
pageants including several 2-hour television "Pageant Specials".
Twice awarded "Alaska Business Woman of the Year" by the American Business Women's
Association Rita has served with the Board of Directors for the Anchorage Fur Rendezvous
Winter Celebration and currently is the Director/Producer of the Miss Anchorage Fur
Rendezvious Pageant.
She has held the position of President of the American Business Women's Association and
President of the Advertising Federation of Alaska.
In addition to her community and pageant involvement Rita is employed by Swan Employer
Services, a Professional Employer Organization specializing in Human Resources Outsourcing
Services.

Christy Garcia has been part of the pageant world since 1986
when she and her mother, Rita Corwin won Alaska's
Mother/Daughter USA Pageant. A former Miss Alaska American
Coed titleholder, Christy placed in the "Top 10" at her National
Competition held in Honolulu, Hawaii. She has competed in
multiple modeling and talent competitions throughout the country
and was named "America's Top Swimsuit Model" with the
International Model and Talent Competition. She has
choreographed for over 20 years and has been featured in several
local radio and television commercials.
Christy has performed since the age of 15 with former talent
group "Jay King Enterprises" and "Triple Threat". She's taught
dance and modern jazz through the Anchorage School District.
A noted singer, Christy has performed throughout Alaska. She is
a graduate of the Alaska Pacific University and has a BA in
Marketing and Business. In addition to her community and
pageant involvement Christy is in Pharmecutical Sales. She and
her husband Mike have two sons, Corwin and Darien.
